a photo, the plane lost an engine panel right after taking off from kansas city, missouri. a passenger snapped this picture with their phone. the pilots circled the airport and then landed the plane safely. it's important to note that. it's not clear yet what caused the panel to just suddenly fall off. a little disconcerting. >> not good. >> no. >>> and we're getting another look at that deadly plane crash in moscow over the weekend. the terrifying moment of impact was captured on the car's dash cam. watch as the plane slams into the side of the highway. sending debris flying. the plane's tire smashed into the car. the only passengers onboard were eight crew members and five of them passed away in that accident. >> incredible video. >>> now to the latest terror plot threat reportedly from al qaeda in yemen, putting a bounty on the heads of a u.s. ambassador there, as well as any american soldier. a video posted on a militant website over the weekend is offering $160,000 for the head of an american ambassador or $23,000 for a soldier. al qaeda in yemen is considered the terror group's m

of this city were suddenly dark, leaving 17,000 homes and businesses without power. emergency crews blocked roads to better assess the damage, while the rain continued to pour on the city. >> oh, jesus, look at that tornado. >> reporter: another of the more than a dozen tornadoes in the region damaged several homes in southeast mississippi. several people were injured, luckily none seriously. >> we have a lot of damage, people hurt. >> we've had homes that are 90% destroyed. >> reporter: the christmas day storm is being blamed for a young man's death in houston. he was trying to push aside a downed tree, when another tree snapped and fell on top of him, killing him instantly. blizzard conditions blanketed the midwest and beyond. snowplows had to clear roads as far south as lubbock, texas. interstate 40 near the intersection of i-35 and oklahoma was closed for most of christmas morning after a massive car pileup. freezing rain conditions caused 21 vehicles to crash into one another. several people were taken to the hospital. the storms are only expected to increase in strength as they sweep

's the city's first snowstorm of the season. many are bracing for more to come. >> if you wanted a white christmas, there you go. >>> the gulf coast is even bracing for the worst. >> including some christmas week tornadoes, believe it or not. andrew has the latest now from accuweather. >> while most of the nation will be relatively tranquil for the holidays, we're tracking one disturbance that will give us unsettled weather across portions of the gulf coast. late tonight, the houston area, we'll see thunderstorms popping up, spreading eastward throughout your christmas tuesday. louisiana, mississippi, alabama, georgia, interstates 10 and 20, torrential downpours, the threat for tornadoes. so a very destructive storm system on this saturday. the highest threat for tornadoes we are looking at around new orleans, mobile, right along interstate 10 and the western panhandle of florida. so definitely be on alert throughout christmas tuesday. we're looking for good snow across portions of the plain. >>> here's the rest of your christmas eve forecast. last-minute shoppers in boston and chicago c

. i love the fact that new york city has a subway system. but every time i'm putting my back against the wall. >> you're not the only one. there are people now that are watching their back. we don't know who the person next to you is, and who knows what can happen? >> who would do that? >>> well, union dock workers who keep all the cargo working in those busy sea ports are threatening to go on strike. a walkout could close ports from houston to boston. it would cripple shipping operations, and of course, impact the economy as early as next week. the union has been work without a contract since september and as many as 14,000 workers could hit the picket line starting this sunday. >>> big retailers have agreed to recall baby recliners which have a deadly defect. 150,000 nap nanny infant recliners are being blamed for at least five deaths and dozens of reports of babies falling, as well. the recliners have been on sale for about four years, and retailers agreed to this recall after the manufacturer went out of business. parents should return it for a refund. >>> a florida dad is angry
